Stakeholder Consultation, San Diego, June 24-25

technical team reps (below).
Saturday, June 24
On Day One we outlined the scope of the project and the role of object
modeling in Geodatabase and Arc8. Some of the important points:
-
The model is intended to cover the common core of user requirements — the
intersection, not the union. It is up to developers and individual
users to customize it to particular needs.
-
A first draft (book and UML code) is planned for December 2000. This
short timeline will cap the scope of this effort. More complex models
will undoubtedly be developed in the future.
Dale Honeycutt presented the technical details of the Arc8 and StreetMap
data models.
Otto Nielsen presented the ScanRail data model used for travel demand
forecasting in Denmark.
